The Underwood 500 S&W Magnum 500gr Lead Flat Nose is a heavy-hitting load for hunters and dangerous-game defense. This cast lead bullet carries serious mass at a strong velocity. Underwood builds this round for shooters who want maximum energy on target. Recoil is significant with this bullet weight. Overall, it remains a trusted option among revolver shooters. Ultimately, the right choice depends on your specific hunt.

Why Choose a Gas Check Flat Nose Bullet

A gas check is a small copper cup fitted to the base of the bullet. It shields the soft lead from the hot propellant gases during firing. This keeps the barrel cleaner and protects accuracy at high velocity. The flat nose profile also punches a wide, straight wound channel. Every round is built to SAAMI-checked pressure standards. Full technical references are available at saami.org. This load pairs well with a scoped hunting revolver. It hits hard at close range. Meanwhile, ammunition supplies can shift quickly during hunting season. Specifically, this option suits big-bore revolver shooters well.
