Magtech Ammunition 500 S&W Magnum 400 Grain Semi-Jacketed Soft Point Box of 20

The Magtech 500 S&W Magnum 400gr Semi-Jacketed Soft Point steps up from Magtech’s 325 grain offerings for hunters who want more bullet weight and penetration. This exposed-lead-tip bullet is built to expand reliably on medium and large game. It bridges light and heavy options well. It is a solid all-around choice. For best results, pattern this load in your own firearm first. Furthermore, it stores well for long-term readiness.

Why Choose a Heavier Semi-Jacketed Soft Point

A heavier bullet carries more momentum downrange, which translates to deeper penetration on tough animals. The semi-jacketed design leaves lead exposed at the tip so the bullet mushrooms outward on impact, widening the wound channel. Magtech manufactures this ammunition to SAAMI-checked standards, referenced at saami.org. This load works well for both hunting and defense. It is a favorite mid-weight choice. Because of this, many hunters keep it as a first choice. Naturally, recoil varies with bullet weight and load.
