Underwood Xtreme Defender Ammunition 44 Special 125 Grain Lehigh Xtreme Defense Lead-Free Box of 20

The Underwood Xtreme Defender 44 Special 125gr Lehigh Xtreme Defense is a lightweight, lead-free self-defense round. Naturally, the reduced bullet weight allows higher velocity with lighter felt recoil. Underwood designed this load for shooters who want speed without sacrificing terminal performance. Many carriers choose it as their primary defensive load.

Why Choose Lehigh Xtreme Defense Technology

The Xtreme Defense bullet is machined from solid copper with sharp fluted petals cut into the nose. On impact, those flutes create multiple wound channels without relying on expansion or hollow-point plugging. For reference, this design works even through heavy clothing, and every round meets SAAMI-checked limits at saami.org. It also performs well as a house gun option. Concealed carriers also value how flat this load shoots at typical defensive distances.

About This Underwood Xtreme Defender 44 Special 125gr Lehigh Xtreme Defense Load

At just 125 grains, this is one of the lightest, fastest self-defense loads offered in this caliber. That speed helps deliver reliable performance even from short-barreled revolvers commonly carried for defense. Therefore, it is a popular pick for concealed carry in this caliber. Many shooters keep it loaded in a nightstand revolver. It performs consistently whether fired from a snub-nose or a longer-barreled revolver.
