Hornady Custom Ammunition 357 Sig 147 Grain XTP Jacketed Hollow Point Box of 20

Hornady Custom Ammunition 357 Sig 147 Grain XTP Jacketed Hollow Point Box of 20 pairs Hornady’s factory-loaded Custom line with the widely trusted XTP bullet at a heavier-than-standard weight. Hornady loads the 147 grain XTP at the heavy end of the 357 Sig spectrum. It retains momentum and penetrates deeper than lighter, faster offerings. The XTP’s serrated jacket notches control expansion so the bullet mushrooms predictably rather than fragmenting or over-expanding.

Heavy-Bullet Controlled Expansion

As a result, shooters and hunters who prioritize deep, reliable penetration alongside dependable expansion often favor this loading. Hornady manufactures this ammunition on automated lines in the United States, which gives it tight, repeatable quality control from box to box. Meanwhile, the heavier bullet weight slightly reduces muzzle flash and blast compared to lighter, higher-velocity loads in the same cartridge.

About This Hornady Custom Ammunition 357 Sig 147 Grain XTP Jacketed Hollow Point Box of 20 Load

The XTP bullet has stood as a benchmark expanding design since its introduction, valued for consistent performance across handgun calibers. For best results, pattern this load through your specific pistol, since barrel length changes velocity and can affect expansion. Similarly, many shooters keep this heavier loading on hand as a deep-penetration option alongside a lighter, faster carry round.

All loads follow SAAMI pressure and dimensional standards for safe, reliable function.
