Hornady Critical Duty Ammunition 357 Sig 135 Grain FlexLock Box of 20

Hornady Critical Duty Ammunition 357 Sig 135 Grain FlexLock Box of 20 targets duty-grade performance through common intermediate barriers, not just bare gelatin. The FlexLock bullet uses an internal locking stem to bond the jacket to the core mechanically. This resists separation even after it passes through heavy clothing or glass. Hornady built the InterLock band beneath the jacket to further prevent core-jacket separation under the stress of barrier penetration.

Barrier-Rated FlexLock Construction

As a result, law enforcement agencies and armed professionals frequently choose this loading when they need performance across real-world obstacles. The 135 grain bullet weight is calibrated specifically for the 357 Sig to balance penetration depth against controlled expansion. In addition, Hornady loads this ammunition with a flash-suppressed powder blend that helps preserve night vision during low-light engagements.

About This Hornady Critical Duty Ammunition 357 Sig 135 Grain FlexLock Box of 20 Load

Hornady developed Critical Duty using the same testing protocols agencies use to evaluate barrier performance, not just standard gelatin blocks. Notably, the FlexLock design consistently meets FBI-style penetration standards across denim, wallboard, and automotive glass in independent testing. Consequently, this loading has become a trusted option for shooters who want proven barrier performance in a compact service pistol.
