Underwood Ammunition 9x18mm (9mm Makarov) 95 Grain Lehigh Xtreme Penetrator Lead-Free Box of 20

Underwood Ammunition 9x18mm (9mm Makarov) 95 Grain Lehigh Xtreme Penetrator Lead-Free Box of 20 pairs Underwood’s high-velocity loading philosophy with Lehigh’s solid-copper, lead-free penetrator bullet. The fluted design cuts a wide permanent wound channel without relying on expansion, so it performs consistently through heavy clothing and other barriers. Underwood loads this 9mm Makarov round well beyond the velocities typical of surplus and mainstream ammunition.

Lead-Free Penetrator Performance for a Classic Cartridge

As a result, shooters who carry an aging Makarov pistol finally get a modern defensive option built for this cartridge. The lead-free construction avoids the fouling and toxicity concerns tied to traditional lead-core bullets. Meanwhile, Underwood hand-inspects each loaded round for consistent charge weight and overall cartridge length.

About This Underwood Ammunition 9x18mm (9mm Makarov) 95 Grain Lehigh Xtreme Penetrator Lead-Free Box of 20 Load

Underwood built its reputation on pushing older, lower-pressure cartridges to genuinely useful defensive velocities. For reference, this loading suits daily carry rather than casual range use, since specialty defensive rounds cost more than surplus ammunition. Therefore, many owners pair this loading for carry with an FMJ round for practice.
