Hornady Custom Ammunition 454 Casull 240 Grain XTP Jacketed Hollow Point Box of 20

The Hornady Custom 454 Casull 240gr XTP Jacketed Hollow Point is a lighter, faster loading built on Hornady’s trusted bullet design. Specifically, the reduced bullet weight delivers a flatter trajectory and noticeably less recoil. This makes the round easier to shoot accurately across a full range session.

Why Choose a Lighter XTP Load

A lighter bullet leaves the barrel faster, which flattens trajectory over typical hunting distances. The XTP jacket still expands reliably, delivering a wide wound channel on impact. For reference, every round meets SAAMI-checked pressure standards, referenced at saami.org. It also suits hunters who want faster follow-up shots. Clearly, this makes it a strong choice for extended practice sessions.

About This Hornady Custom 454 Casull 240gr XTP Jacketed Hollow Point Load

At 240 grains, this is one of the lighter loads offered in this caliber. That reduced weight translates directly into softer felt recoil for extended shooting sessions. Indeed, many hunters choose this load specifically to stay comfortable during practice. Accordingly, many hunters keep both bullet weights on hand for different hunts. It also cycles smoothly through both revolvers and lever-action rifles.

It also performs well on deer and hog-sized game at typical handgun ranges. Liberty Anno Supply carries this lighter, faster hunting load for handgun hunters.
