Hornady American Whitetail Tipped 450 Bushmaster Ammo 250 Grain Hornady FTX Polymer Tip

Hornady American Whitetail Tipped 450 Bushmaster Ammo 250 Grain Hornady FTX Polymer Tip uses Hornady’s FTX bullet, which pairs a Flex Tip with a jacketed hollow point for reliable feeding and expansion. The soft polymer Flex Tip prevents feeding issues common with hollow points in tubular and box magazines while still initiating expansion.

Flex Tip Reliable Expansion

Meanwhile, the bullet is engineered to expand consistently even at the moderate velocities typical of straight-wall and short-barreled cartridges. This makes it a strong performer in rifles and carbines where velocity is more limited than a traditional bottleneck cartridge. As a result, shooters get dependable terminal performance without feeding issues.

About This Hornady American Whitetail Tipped 450 Bushmaster Ammo 250 Grain Hornady FTX Polymer Tip Load

Hornady designed this bullet specifically to solve the feeding and velocity challenges of straight-wall hunting cartridges. For reference, this load is purpose-built for the shorter ranges typical of straight-wall cartridge hunting. Therefore, it’s a strong choice for hunters running these platforms in dedicated straight-wall hunting zones.

Hornady loads this ammunition with propellants matched to deliver consistent velocity from typical rifles. The polymer tip also improves feeding reliability across a range of magazine styles. This load has become a popular choice for hunters in straight-wall-only hunting areas.
