Hornady Critical Defense Ammunition 380 ACP 90 Grain FTX Polymer Tip Box of 25

The Hornady Critical Defense 380 ACP 90 Grain FTX Polymer Tip is a trusted self-defense load for compact 380 ACP pistols. The patented Flex Tip bullet design eliminates a common hollow point problem. Traditional hollow points can clog with heavy clothing before they expand. As a result, shooters get consistent, reliable expansion even from short carry-gun barrels. This loading suits everyday concealed carry, pocket pistols, and backup gun duty.

About This Hornady Critical Defense 380 ACP Load

Hornady built the FTX bullet with a soft polymer insert in the hollow point cavity. Fabric or other debris cannot pack the tip and prevent expansion. Instead, the polymer tip initiates reliable mushrooming on contact with soft tissue. Additionally, Hornady tunes the propellant charge for short 380 ACP barrels. The load reaches its designed velocity even from a 2.75 to 3-inch barrel. Many other loads underperform at that barrel length. This 90 grain loading has become the default recommendation for compact 380 ACP carry. Liberty Anno Supply stocks this loading in 25-round boxes, making it simple to keep fresh carry ammunition on hand for a compact 380 ACP pistol.
