A Fast, Lightweight +P Round for Flat Trajectories

Meanwhile, this +P loading pushes the lightweight bullet to unusually high velocity. This combination gives hunters an exceptionally flat trajectory rarely seen from this old cartridge. As a result, hunters who want lever-gun speed closer to a modern rifle often choose this loading.

About This Underwood Xtreme Hunter Ammunition 45-70 Government +P 225 Grain Xtreme Defense Lead-Free Box of 20 Load

Underwood engineers this Xtreme Hunter line specifically around lightweight, high-velocity lead-free bullets. For reference, this loading suits deer and hog hunting more than dangerous game defense. Therefore, many hunters choose this loading specifically for flatter-shooting, longer-range shots.

Underwood tests every +P loading well above standard pressure specifications before it ships. This particular loading remains a favorite among hunters chasing flatter 45-70 ballistics. Many hunters specifically seek out this loading when chasing flatter lever-gun ballistics.
